Sarah Kehr is a fashion practitioner based in Germany, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Critical Fashion Practices at ArtEZ in Arnhem (NL). After initially following a fairly traditional path – training as a tailor and completing a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design at Pforzheim University with a virtual fashion collection – her practice has shifted towards a more theoretical engagement. Her current research focuses on virtual fashion, with particular attention to the tools that are worked with, its (im)material entanglements, and (virtual) bodies; as well as the question of the extent to which this can be shaped into a critical practice. She approaches these questions through the frameworks of critical posthumanism and feminist materialisms, while drawing on her experiences as both a tailor and designer.
